Bio
My name is Rick, but for interest and a small degree of anonymity I work creatively as WarlessRabbit. I live and work in East Vancouver, Canada. Also a designer and musician, I try to keep my visual workdiverse both in medium and form. Most can be found scattered
throughout the Board culture and music industry. My Art’s primary purpose is to please the eye but has most recently I have began to voice my concerns regarding the environment, social issues and world politics. I am proud to be a Canadian and work hard to contribute to our nation’s cultural and international identity.

Artist’s Statement
In this series my love and respect for first nations culture and art (most notably that of the Pacific Northwest coast and the Maoris of New Zealand) defined my aesthetic. I was living in Asia when I began and my studio/ living space was small so I worked in smaller pieces but with greater detail. Surreal worlds evolved, populated with “Manga” style characters and narratives. Most recently I have began to reinterpret the Pacific Northwest coast and its truly supernatural and surreal beauty.
