Bio
Born on December 13, 1978 Zeph Farmby has been creating unique pieces of art as far back as he can remember. Early works of his graffiti style continue to show up in newer pieces. Unique and creative pieces of original works are for sale and can be found in galleries and clothing stores across the United States as well as online.
After attending the American Academy of Art in Chicago, Illinois, Zeph continued to perfect his skill through teaching and coaching young artists in Michigan, Illinois, and Wisconsin. Today, Zeph’s art serves as the foundation of major clothing lines such as 2 Much Game Sports Wear, Original AFRO Wear, PHLI, and Sneaker Fiend.
I AMAZE EYEZ is solely owned by Zeph and provides an umbrella for his various arms of talent. This is no starving artist.
Artist’s Statement
My artwork is like the album to my life; every piece is like individual songs linked together playing the soundtrack of my lifestyle!
I like to show an assortment of things that relate to my lifestyle, from everyday struggles to showing portraits of things that I enjoy. My art reveals the aspects of life from my perspective - being metaphoric in showing subjects reflecting Hip-Hop and how I grew up.
I have a traditional, fine artist technique. I use oil and acrylic paint to express a certain look and feel. With oils I paint loosely – the paint takes more time to dry but I enjoy the process of painting wet and then allowing it dry so that I can admire the complete process slowly.
My art expression is similar to graffiti art; showing different, but rather unique angles and exaggerations of objects and the human figure to express my perspective more clearly.
My paintings have been described as Hip-Hop inspired fine art. The subject matter relates to my inner self and I give each piece a distinctive feel. You shouldn’t be surprised to see my work in Museums and high-end art galleries. Clients have told me that they get a sense of how I grew up as they envision my upbringing in the figures in my paintings. My goal is to showcase my talent and to amaze at least one of the six senses - SIGHT.
My goal as an artist is to earn a place in art history for future generations and to have my artwork displayed in historic buildings. My hope is that my art will continue to serve as the vocal cords to those who feel misunderstood.
I am inspired by music and the city essence of the Southside of Chicago. I find the highest level of calmness there. What remains is a unique piece of my work. My stamp of legacy left behind to show my appreciation of the skill.
What up, just showing some love. This shit is tight, me and my girl love it!!! Keep up the good work man.
